The Slippery Fish
So much talent from this young artist. Highly recommend checking out the couple live videos on Youtube. This gal has a bright future ahead on this "Fantastic Planet".
Favorite track: Long Stroll.
fire! super debut. some of the songs make me want to dance like TMFAP in Twin Peaks - can't beat that. vocals are unique but also some variation there (even sounds a bit like beth gibbons on a few songs). plus bonus points for a great album cover
Favorite track: Lonely Stars.
"As I’m currently 19, I’m still learning from the new experiences I encounter, but my experiences during Fantastic Planet are the roots of me finding out that I’m an “alien” from Fantastic Planet; or in other words, the beginning of me as an artist, a storyteller." - Lealani
"A stunning, avant-garde take on pop music from Lealani; 'Fantastic Planet' pairs minimal synth arrangements with haunting vocals for a riveting listen." -Bandcamp
"The 19-year-old multi-instrumentalist and vocalist composed the album between the ages of 12 and 18, blending together electronic, synth-pop, and indie rock with the inclusion of synths, samples, drums, guitar, and vintage toy-like instruments." -XLR8R
"The sonic palette of her debut contains an expansive terrain, glued together through unique vocal cadences and lyricism that make every song glow with mysticism…" -The Seventh Hex
"Gnarly, but like the way massive tree roots rip up a sidewalk or strangle a building." -EARMILK
